Training Packages Overview
We offer different programs and can tailor each program to match both yours and your dog's individual strengths and needs!! We are not "cookie-cutter assembly line" trainers, our trainers are as unique as your dogs. We have the flexibility to match your dog with the trainer and training style to best suit your needs whether that be simple obedience, behavior management for anxiety, reactivity or aggression, therapy dog development, service dog development, introduction into scent work, introduction into dog sports, or any higher level of obedience training you may be looking for.
We strive to match you and your dog with the trainer and training style that is best going to help exceed your expectations! We work closely together while celebrating our different approaches to training and utilization of different tools to achieve maximum results for you and your dog!

Included in all packages offered but at varying levels of difficulty. All command words can be customizable.
Come - Your dog will come to you and sit
Sit - Your dog will sit and stay seated until you release them
Down - Your dog will down and stay down until you release them
Place - Your dog will get on an object and stay there until released to help with impulse control and confidence building. Example objects: dog bed, elevated cot, tree stump, park bench, rock, mat, etc.
Off - A way to communicate "no" to your dog
Break - A release word and pay check for your dog
Heel - Your dog will walk next to you on either the left or right side without pulling on the leash.
While the commands are the same for each package, the main difference between packages is the time you, the owner, are able to invest in teaching and proofing those commands. During private sessions, we are teaching you to teach your pup - it is up to you to do your homework if you want to see results. During Adventure Training Camp, we teach all 7 commands and then build on the Duration, Distractions, Distance, and Diversity making sure your pup comes home a star! Hybrid Training Camp is a blend between the two.
We want to make sure you have the tools to be successful no matter which package you choose!

Moxley came to us with some typical puppy behaviors like jumping on people when greeting, leash pulling, and barking for attention! Chip, the 1.5 y/o Cattle Dog / Beagle mix was adopted from a local shelter when he was a puppy. Chip’s amazing family reached out to us to help with some very concerning behaviors as they now have a new human baby at home. Prior to his training with North Star, Chip suffered from "high distractibility" and "hyperfocus" on even the slightest distractions. The distractibility and selective hearing were minor issues compared to his reactivity, so Chip came to Adventure Training Camp! Leo is a large breed pup (Bernese Mountain dog mix) who is less than a year old! He is super enthusiastic about life which resulted in pulling his mom all over the place! This young pup didn’t know his own size! He also had some other very typical puppy behaviors and lacked focus. During Leo’s 2 week Adventure Training Camp, he learned better manners and engagement, so he can have a more full life with more walkies!!
See sweet Penny Sue the doodle gain tons of confidence during her 2 Week Adventure Training Camp. Penny Sue came to us with some typical issues including pulling on the leash, lacking confidence, and jumping on people! Training Packages Breakdown
AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Sessions
Description:
This package consists of 6 thirty minute private positive reinforcement sessions held at our facility over 6 weeks.
While the 6 private puppy sessions held at our facility are not a replacement for obedience training (which can start at 6 months due to your dog's growth and socialization window), they are designed to give y'all the foundation needed to excel. We cover topics relating to potty training, nutrition, first aid, vaccination schedules, socializing and imprinting, and positive behavioral shaping. Commands covered in the sessions can include: come, sit, place, break, potty training, crate training, nipping/play biting help, heel, down and trick training. The goal is to give you the tools needed to work your puppies body and brain. You will receive a puppy packet, 15-ft training leash, and a small NSK9 treat pouch at the first lesson! AKC S.T.A.R. Certificate issued upon completion. Dogs eight months and younger may participate in AKC S.T.A.R.

4 Private Sessions
Description:
This package consists of 4 one-hour private sessions held at our facility over 4 weeks.
Typically in the 4 private sessions you will learn the 7 basic obedience commands: come, sit, down, place, off, break, and heel.
Each session is customizable to fit your needs. Homework will be given out by the trainer each week to help guide you and your dog to the highest level of success. Dogs must be at least six months old to participate in the private sessions.

5 Private Sessions
Description:
This package consists of 5 one-hour private sessions held at our facility over 5 weeks.
5 private sessions with a trainer gives you the 4 private sessions to work on basic obedience plus 1 extra session for time with the trainer to work introducing the Mini Educator E-Collar.
Typically in the 5 private sessions you will learn the 7 basic obedience commands: come, sit, down, place, off, break, and heel. Each session is customizable to fit your needs. Homework will be given out by the trainer each week to help guide your dog to the highest level of success. Dogs must be at least six months old to participate in the private sessions.

Hybrid Training Camp
Description:
This package consists of a combination a 7-day training camp and of 5 one-hour private sessions (taught one hour per week for 5 weeks).
Looking for a mix of Sessions and Training Camp? This package is completely customizable to work on only problem areas you may be experiencing with your dog as well as gaining a understanding of the 7 basic obedience commands: come, sit, down, place, off, break, and heel.
By the end of the hybrid training camp, your dog will know all 7 basic commands in non-distracted and low distracted areas. 5 private sessions with a trainer gives you the private sessions to work on basic obedience either before or after your 7 night training camp. Homework will be given out by the trainer each week you have a session to help guide your dog to the highest level of success. Each session is customizable to fit your needs. Dogs must be at least six months old to participate in the Hybrid Training Camp but we recommend older than seven months old.
During your dog’s one week training camp, they will live with one of our trainers as if they were one of their own. During the day, your dog will go where our trainer goes, and you will get photo and video updates during the entire training camp so you know what they are learning and doing. During camp the trainer will focus on working on commands in no/low distraction areas to work on your dog fully understanding each command before distractions are presented.

Description:
For this package, we keep your dog for 2 weeks and make them a STAR!
By the end of their training camp, your dog will know all 7 basic commands in non-distracted and high distracted areas. You won’t need to go through the task of teaching commands to them or have to dedicate 45 minutes to an hour learning each command weekly. During your dog’s camp, they will live with one of our trainers as if they were one of their own. During the day, your dog will go where our trainer goes, and you will get photo and video updates during the entire adventure training camp so you know what they are learning and doing!
This package includes a optional FREE 1st Lesson/Meet and Greet with the trainer at our facility (513 Cooper Street Knoxville TN 37917) to assure the Board and Train is the best fit and allows you to start training prior to the Board and Train.
At the very end of the 2 Week Adventure Training Camp, the trainer will spend 2-3 hours with you showing you how to maintain that training at home, but the best part of this package is that it comes with a lifetime guaranteed access to North Star Alumni Club and lifetime support!! So, should you ever need help or support, all you have to do is give us a call or come see us free of charge at any North Star Alumni Club monthly pack walk for the rest of your dog’s life.
